TH10-12 War Stratgies: Variations of Queen Walk BoWitch Attacks

The Queen Walk BoWitch (Bowlers and Witches) attack has been one of the most common attacks used at TH10, TH11, and TH12.  It’s usually a safe 2-star strategy, but when done well it can have the potential for 3-stars.

History:  Video from 2018

Clash Tutor had created an excellent YouTube video back in March of 2018, explaining the fundamentals of Queen Walk BoWitch.  Although the video is older (for example, it was before the game had siege machines), it still is worth the watch.

But the attack has evolved since then.  Many attackers have learned other ways to funnel the flank side from where the Queen begins.  Also, variations to the traditional Queen Walk BoWitch have been created, including Frozen BoWitch and Queen Walk BoWitch with Bats.

Suggested Troops and Spells:

  • Siege Machine:  Wall Wrecker, usually filled with a Pekka and Ice Golem at TH12, or 1 Ice Golem and Bowlers, or all Valkyries or 1 Ice Golem and some Valkyries
  • Grand Warden set to GROUND
  • 4-5 Healers
  • possibly something to force your Queen to walk a certain way, such as a Baby Dragon
  • something to create the flank side of your funnel;  options include:
    • an Electro Dragon or Baby Dragon
    • Pekka with a few Wizards or Witches
    • Giants with a few Wizards or Witches
    • Ice Golem with a few Wizards or Witches
    • a few Witches
    • a few Witches and Bowlers
  • possibly 1-3 test Balloons to soak up a Black Air Mine or to snipe defenses that are outside and not covered by air defenses
  • possibly a Tank to use in front of your Wall Wrecker:  Pekka, Ice Golem, Giants, or Golem
  • Lots of Bowlers  (see videos for ideas)
  • Several Witches  (see videos for ideas)
  • 1 Poison Spell
  • Traditional QW BoWitch Spells:  usually 3-4 Rages, 1-2 Heals;  maybe 1 Jump;  maybe 2 Freeze
  • Frozen BoWitch Spells:  2 Rages;  6 Freeze;  1 Heal or Jump
  • QW BoWitchBat Spells:  2 Rages; 5-6 Bats;  1-3 Freeze;  maybe 1 Heal

How It Works:

Where to enter?  To make sure you get at least the 2-star, you need your troops to come from a side where the Town Hall will surely be taken down and also the Eagle Artillery (ideally) destroyed early on.

  1. Funnel Creation Part 1:  Your Queen Walk:  Your Archer Queen along with the Healers, and possibly the Grand Warden (personal preference), create one side of the funnel.  It may be wise to use a test Balloon before deploying the Healers to soak up a Black Air Mine.  You might use a Baby Dragon to force the Queen to walk a specific direction.  You might need to use a Rage Spell on the Healers to keep your Queen alive if too many defenses are targeting her.
  2. Funnel Creation Part 2:  The Flank:  Once you have determined which way the Queen is going to walk, use whatever troops you brought to create the flank of your funnel (the other side of the funnel from where your Queen started).  Possible troop options for this flank are listed above in the Suggested Troops section.
  3. Tank (optional), Wall Wrecker, Witches, Bowlers, Barb King, and Grand Warden:  A tank (Pekka, Ice Golem, a few Giants, or a Golem) might be used as a temporary tank to help the Wall Wrecker push far into the base.  The Killsquad will push through the base, hopefully hitting the Eagle Artillery early, and the Town Hall.
  4. Grand Warden’s Ability:  At TH12 the best time to use your Warden’s ability is when your troops are just about to destroy a max Giga Tesla so that the explosion does not kill all the troops in that area.  At TH11, the Warden’s ability should be well-timed with the mortar hits from the Eagle Artillery, possibly also when the Killsquad engages the enemy CC troops.
  5. Spell Usage:
    • Traditional QW BoWitch:  The Rage spells will help the Killsquad take down key enemy defenses (Eagle, Giga Tesla, X-Bows, Tesla Farm) and the enemy CC troops.  The Heal Spell(s) can assist in keeping troops alive (especially through Giant Bombs), but so can the Healers under a Rage Spell.  A Jump Spell might be used to direct the troops to a specific target, such as the Eagle Artillery.
    • Frozen BoWitch:  The Freeze Spells are used on key defenses, such as the Eagle Artillery, Infernos, enemy CC troops and Queen, and maybe X-Bows, to help keeping the Wall Wrecker Alive.
    • QW BoWitchBat:  After the Killsquad has engaged the enemy Queen and enemy CC troops (and at TH12, also after they have taken down the Giga Tesla), the Bat Spells should be used at a location that will take down other defenses that are currently not reachable by the Killsquad.  Freeze spells must be used to keep the Bats alive through Wizard Towers and Multi-Target Infernos, since they are the main enemies of Bats.

Traditional QW BoWitch Videos:

Clash Attacks with Jo just recently created a TH12 Traditional Queen Walk BoWitch video, where Giants are used.  He does a nice job explaining each part of the attacks.

There are many YouTube videos that show traditional QW BoWitch attacks.  A few are linked below.  Several of the attacks found in these videos are against anti-3-star designs and some are against common internet bases.

Frozen BoWitch Video:

The following video, by Clash with Eric, shows how to do TH11 Frozen (QW) BoWitch attacks.

Queen Walk BoWitchBat Video:

The last video in this post is by Clash with Cory, showing how Bat Spells can be incorporated into QW BoWitch attacks.
