TH10-12 War Strategies: Witch Attacks: Bat Slap and Frozen Witch

witch

This post is about two strategies that use mass Witches:  The TH11-12 Bat Slap and the strategy exclusive to TH10, the Frozen Witch.

Strategy:  The Bat Slap Attack, primarily for TH11-12, but possibly also for TH10

Suggested Troops and Spells:

  • Siege Machine:  Wall Wrecker, usually filled with a Pekka and Ice Golem at TH12, or 2 Ice Golems and a Giant or Balloon at TH11
  • Grand Warden set to GROUND
  • 11-13 Witches
  • 4-5 Healers
  • possibly something to help create one side of your funnel:  electro dragon, baby dragon, or pekka
  • 1-2 Ice Golems
  • 1-4 Wizards for clean up, where 1-2 of them might be used early to help with the funnel
  • 1 Rage Spell, usually donated to your CC
  • 3-4 Freeze Spells
  • 6-7 Bat Spells
  • 1 Poison Spell

How It Works:

Where to enter?  This attack works best on an anti-3-star base design.  Your Killsquad should enter from a side of the base opposite of the Town Hall, so that they will path through the Eagle Artillery early and then to the Town Hall.

  1. Create Your Funnel with your Barb King and Other Troops:  The King, possibly with 2-3 witches, creates one side of the funnel.  For the other side of the funnel you might possibly use an Electro Dragon, Baby Dragon (use a test balloon to soak up a possible Black Air Mine) or Pekka, AND possibly also a short Queen Walk.  Similar to the PekkaBoBat attack, it’s ok for your King not to join with the Killsquad so that the Healers heal the Witches instead of the King.
  2. Ice Golem, Wall Wrecker, Witches, Healers, Queen, and Grand Warden:  An Ice Golem might be used as a temporary tank to help the Wall Wrecker push far into the base.  The slow-moving Killsquad will push through the base, hitting the Eagle Artillery early, on their way towards the Town Hall.  Your Rage Spell will be used on the Killsquad while they are taking the most damage, likely while they are engaging the enemy Queen, enemy CC troops, and other defenses at the same time.  You do NOT want to use the Rage spell near a TH12 Giga Tesla, because you don’t want the Witches to quickly run over the Explosion when the Town Hall is destroyed.  You also might use a Freeze Spell or two to help your killsquad — more info below.
  3. Grand Warden’s Ability:  Use the Grand Warden’s ability fairly early as the Killsquad is pushing through the base.  His ability should be well-timed with the mortar hits from the Eagle Artillery, possibly also when the Killsquad engages the enemy CC troops.  This will allow the Wall Wrecker to push through as far as possible.
  4. Bat Spells and Freeze Spells:  After the Killsquad has engaged the enemy Queen and enemy CC troops (and at TH12, also after they have taken down the Giga Tesla), the Bat Spells should be used at a location that will take down other defenses that are currently not reachable by the Killsquad.  Freeze spells and possibly an Ice Golem must be used to keep the Bats alive — more info below.

What Should the Freeze Spells be Used on?

With Bat Slap attacks, Freeze Spells should be used for two purposes:  (1) to help your Killsquad and (2) to keep the Bats alive.

Things to consider using a Freeze Spell(s) on to help your Killsquad:

  • Inferno Tower:  You don’t want a Single-Target Inferno to destroy your Wall Wrecker too soon.
  • Enemy defending CC troops, along with nearby defenses
  • Enemy Queen, along with nearby defenses

The defenses that can quickly destroy bats, and therefore require using a well-timed Freeze Spell to keep the Bats alive, are:

  • Wizard Towers
  • Multi-Target Inferno Towers
  • maybe X-Bows, but they are less dangerous than the previous two defenses mentioned above

Advanced Tip:  You can use a well-timed Ice Golem to distract a Wizard Tower, in order to keep the Bats Alive.

The following video by Clash with Eric shows Bat Slap attacks at TH11 and TH12.

Strategy:  The Frozen Witch Attack, for TH10

Suggested Troops and Spells:

  • Siege Machine:  Wall Wrecker, filled with 5 Bowlers and 1 Giant
  • 14 Witches
  • 4 Healers
  • 4 Wizards
  • 1-2 Rage Spells
  • 1 Heal Spell
  • 5-7 Freeze Spells
  • 1 Poison Spell, usually donated to your CC

How It Works:

Where to enter?  This attack works best on an anti-3-star base design, where you can draw a direct line from where your Wall Wrecker will enter, going through both Inferno Towers, towards the Town Hall.  And that’s where your Killsquad should enter, at the opposite side of the Town Hall.  Watch Clash with Eric’s videos below to visually see what I’m talking about.  You also need to pay attention to the location of the Air Defenses, since you don’t want them to be shooting down your Healers early.

  1. Create Your Funnel with Witches, Healers, and possibly a couple Wizards:  Similar to the TH9 Witch Slap attack, you’ll create your funnel using 5 Witches, 2 Healers, and possibly 1 Wizard on each side/flank.  It’s possible that you might save 1-2 of your Wizards for clean up for near the end of the attack.
  2. Wall Wrecker, Witches, King, and Queen (and possibly Wizards):  Starting with the Wall Wrecker, the slow-moving Killsquad will push through the base, hitting one Inferno at a time, on their way towards to the Town Hall.  You will need to use Freeze Spells frequently — more info below.  If you brought a total of 2 Rage Spells, then 1 of them can be used early on the Killsquad.
  3. When the Wall Wrecker Opens, Rage and Heal the CC Bowlers:  As soon as the Wall Wrecker is about to open, you’ll drop a Rage Spell and Heal Spell so that your CC Bowlers will act as a bomb taking out defenses around them.

What Should the Freeze Spells be Used on?

Your primary purpose for the Freeze Spells is to help your Wall Wrecker stay alive as long as possible.  Therefore consider using Freeze Spells on:

  • Single-Target Inferno Tower, if it targets your Wall Wrecker or a Hero
  • Enemy defending CC troops, along with nearby defenses
  • Enemy Queen, along with nearby defenses
  • Any group of x-bows, cannons, or archer towers that are giving a lot of damage to your Wall Wrecker

A secondary purpose for the Freeze Spells is to help your Witches stay alive.  Therefore you may also consider using Freeze Spells on:

  • Multi-Target Inferno Tower
  • Wizard Tower or Bomb Tower, if it is taking out the Skeletons that are tanking for the Witches
  • Air Defense, if it is shooting down Healers

Despite the fact that the title says “BoWitch”, Clash with Eric’s video below begins with explaining and showing 2 Frozen Witch attacks.  A second video by Clash with Eric is also included below.
