TH10-12 War Strategy: DragBat (DragLoon Bat Wave)

The DragBat attack (also known as DragLoon Bat Wave) is a relatively non-risky 3-star strategy.  Even if it fails to get 3-stars, it’s pretty certain to get you 2-stars.

Suggested Troops and Spells:

  • Siege Machine:  Stone Slammer, filled with Balloons
  • Grand Warden set to AIR
  • lots of Dragons
  • some Balloons, but not too many
  • possibly a Lava Hound to initially tank for an Air Defense
  • possibly an Electro Dragon and/or Baby Dragon to help create your funnel
  • possibly a couple Minions for clean up
  • 1-2 Rage Spells
  • 2-4 Freeze Spells
  • 5-7 Bat Spells

How It Works:

  1. Heros and possibly Electro Dragon and/or Baby Dragon:  The King and Queen, and possibly also an Electro Dragon and/or Baby Dragon, help to create your funnel.  If one or both of the Heroes can take down a TH12 Town Hall, that would be very helpful.  Also, if the Queen can shoot down an Air Defense, that would be ideal.  You usually do NOT want the King or Queen to lure out the enemy CC, to prevent ground troops (such as an Ice Golem) or LavaHound or Balloons to come out.  Dragons will only lure out CC troops that can target Air.
  2. Dragons, Balloons, Lava Hound (if used), Stone Slammer, and Rage Spell(s):  They push through the base, hitting the Town Hall early (if hitting  a TH12) and possibly also the Eagle Artillery early.  At TH12, use one of your rage spells through the Giga Tesla.  If you brought a second rage spell, it might be smart to use it when the Dragons engage the enemy Queen or enemy CC troops.
  3. Grand Warden’s Ability:  At TH12, use the Grand Warden’s ability to keep the Dragons alive through the Giga Tesla’s explosion.  At TH11, use the Grand Warden’s ability timed with the mortar hits from the Eagle Artillery, possibly also when the Dragons engage the enemy CC troops.
  4. Bat Spells and Freeze Spells:  After the Dragons have engaged the enemy Queen and enemy CC troops (and at TH12, also after they have taken down the Giga Tesla), the Bat Spells should be used at a location that will help the Dragons by taking down key defenses, including Air Defenses, Inferno Towers, and especially the Eagle Artillery if the Dragons didn’t take it down.  Freeze spells must be used primarily to keep the Bats alive — more info below.

What Should the Freeze Spells be Used on?

The Freeze Spells should be used to keep the Bats alive.  The defenses that can quickly destroy bats, and therefore require using a well-timed Freeze Spell to keep the Bats alive, are:

  • Wizard Towers
  • Multi-Target Inferno Towers
  • maybe X-Bows, but they are less dangerous than the previous two defenses mentioned above

If the base has Single-Target Infernos, it is possible that you might need to use a Freeze Spell on it to keep a Dragon alive.
